Bruce's Backyard Beekeeping: To Toorak

Well it's not all about beekeeping or even apiculture but we did deliver some honey and (sort of) look at honey prospects. Although I must admit I have no plans to move any bees from the Perkins Parade Apiary and I don't think there was a lot of spare room in Casa Toyota as we headed south on the Princes Highway!!!

We planned to be on the road by 9am but leaving by 11 was pretty good as we didn't plan to get all the way to Melbourne in the day. Our destination for the night came from our Camps Australia Wide 6 book http://www.campsaustraliawide.com/faq/free-camping-sites-victoria/ and the campsite was at Willow Park near Rosedale, Victoria.

We shared the large, shady, grassed and free camping area with about a dozen other (mainly) family groups and quite a few (thousand) mosquitos! Was it good? No it was great and amazingly the mosquitoes didn't worry us once we entered the Casa Toyota Boudoir!!!!

Early the next morning we were on the road heading to Toorak! Now where and what is Toorak and why would we be going there? This is what Wikipedia has to say about Toorak...

We now have a reason to visit Toorak as our daughter Melissa and partner Duane have rented an apartment there. So why did a girl from Narooma and a boy from Wyndham make the decision to move here? You'd have to ask them, but I think a new job and a change is a good start. Oh and the opportunity to see more of the Mighty Saints and some of the Hawks (Dorks) has a little to do with it! Before long we were at their spacious new abode and I must admit Toorak seems pretty good for a visit to us as well!
